One lesson we have learned from our work is that IT security problems don't discriminate. Any kind of organisation, regardless of the resources at their disposal, can fall victim to similar business threats, unless they take the right steps to minimise or eliminate them.

Among the most common problems we come across are the neglect of network defences (without regular reviews security defences may become vulnerable to new threats); weaknesses in telecoms networks; inadequate content security (allowing contaminated material to bypass perimeter defences and circulate within networks, creating havoc); flaws in wireless network construction; and last but not least, problems associated with the behaviour of staff, who can expose the organisation to danger through a lack of awareness or training, or plain carelessness.
